This Pumpkin Shaped Cheese Ball is the ultimate fall appetizer—creamy, savory, and fun to make! Packed with sharp cheddar, cream cheese, and fresh herbs, it’s not only delicious but also shaped into a festive pumpkin for Halloween parties, Thanksgiving gatherings, or autumn potlucks. With its rustic charm and bold flavors, this appetizer is guaranteed to impress guests while being surprisingly simple to prepare.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or chives

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (plus extra for dusting)

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 1 bell pepper stem (or real pumpkin stem, washed)


Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.

  • Add shredded cheddar, parsley/chives, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.

  • Scoop mixture onto plastic wrap and shape into a ball. Wrap tightly.

  • Use rubber bands or kitchen string to section into “pumpkin grooves.” Chill for at least 1 hour.

  • Unwrap, dust lightly with paprika for color, and insert the pepper stem on top.

 

  • Serve with crackers, pretzels, or fresh veggies.


Notes

Add cooked bacon bits or jalapeños for a spicy twist.

Can be made up to 2 days in advance and chilled until serving.

Use extra paprika or shredded cheddar on the outside for more “pumpkin” color
