Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup festive sprinkles (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the sheet.

  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes.

  4. Pour the hot caramel over crackers and spread evenly.

  5. Bake for 5 minutes until bubbly.

  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let melt for 2 minutes, then spread evenly.

  7. Add sprinkles while warm.

  8. Cool completely, then refrigerate for 1 hour.

  9. Break into pieces and serve!


Notes

Substitute graham crackers or matzo for saltines if desired.
